A life-long woodworker, Magill’s career in woodturning began when he was gifted a lathe by his wife. He discovered ornamental turning soon after and realized its potential of combining geometric mechanisms with his creative visions. As a frequent demonstrator and writer in the American Woodturner Magazine, Magill has worked to promote ornamental turning and it’s processes, even publishing the plans for the Rose Engine Lathe, allowing anyone to build their own and explore the craft!
